The Thinking Girl's Guide To Drinking: (Cocktails without Regrets)

  • About

Oh, tequila, a spirit that can simultaneously give you one of the best and worst drinking experiences of your life (according to Brittini’s mother, anyway). Tequila is a beverage distilled from the blue agave plant that results in one of the most complex and exciting spirits. The majority of tequilas can be categorized as blanco or plata (bottled within sixty days of distillation), reposado or rested (aged two to eleven months in oak), and anejo (aged for one year or more in oak barrels). Due to high demand and overproduction, most tequilas have lost their quality (Patrón, anyone?). For our purposes we love working with Forteleza and Siete Leguas, who maintain their original production practices. (Fun fact: Even though most people think the agave plant is similar to a cactus, it is actually a member of the lily family.)
