  • About

The principality’s vineyards extend from Balzers in the south to Eschen in the north but are concentrated on the capital Vaduz, above and at some distance from the river rhine, where the climate is strongly influenced by the warming föhn effect of the wind from the south. There are about a hundred vine growers and just four commercial wine producers, of which the biggest is Hofkellerei des Fürsten von Liechtenstein, run in tandem with a much larger operation in Austria’s weinviertel. Most of Liechtenstein’s wine is sold directly to local consumers.
