  • About
In all the recipes, imperial and metric weights and measures are given, as well as American measures. Do not mix measures: stick to one system. American cups are graduated in fractions of 16 fl oz. Sets of cups are available. There are five sizes in the set – ⅛; ¼; ⅓; ½ and 1 cup.

American butter is packaged in 4oz sticks. American standard measuring spoons are the same as the metric measuring spoons now widely available in Britain. All spoon measures are taken as level For Liquids:

1 teaspoon = 5 ml
1 tablespoon = 15 ml
2 tablespoons = ⅛ c= 1 fl oz = 25 ml (approx)
5 tablespoons = ⅓ c= 2½ fl oz = 60 ml (approx)
8 tablespoons = ½ c= 4 fl oz = 100 ml (approx)
1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons
