Suzanna Maclver, Cookery and pastry. As taught and practised by Mrs Maclver, teacher of those arts in Edinburgh
Printed in Edinburgh, it was written at her pupil’s request. Though she began by selling jams, chutneys, pickles and cakes, she later ran a cookery school for the well-to-do. She sold the cookery book, costing 2s 6d (12p), privately to begin with from her house in Stephen Law’s Close. (3rd edition, 1782)
