Printed in Edinburgh, costing 3s (15 p). She was one of Mrs Maclver’s assistants and took over after her death. (2nd edition, 1795)

Given to me by the late Ted Renolds (Senior Lecturer in Catering at The Scottish Hotel School, also joint author of the Chef’s Compendium) who found it among some second-hand books at the Glasgow ‘Barras’. The library catalogue suggests it dates from the early eighteenth century.
