  • About

Cambo Estate has always been a place to inspire creativity and conviviality. The original mansion famously succumbed to a fire following a raucous staff party in the 1800s and was then rebuilt with the brief to create ‘the largest house in Fife’. Today, it sits at the heart of the 1200-acre estate that has been in the Erskine family for over 300 years.

By the 1980s, Cambo was the go-to destination for a generation of children who visited the Cambo Farm Park, brainchild of Peter Erskine (who also devised a wildlife walk that culminated on the beach, no less). The park was decades ahead of its time, with organic farming at its heart and straw bales everywhere to climb on. This is how the magic of Cambo was instilled in me as a Dundonian child.
