I can’t think of anything more comforting than a warming bowl of dal on a cold winter’s evening. It is equally uplifting in the summer months when a bowl of dal hits the spot for a light lunch or supper. There are so many varieties, each tasting completely different, so I hope that everyone finds at least one dal to suit their own tastes. They are super nutritious, healthy, affordable and straightforward to make. You will also find a few delicious soups, which are thinner in consistency than most of the dals, but still pack in plenty of flavour.
