  • About

This book was designed to be used by both British and American readers. British and U.S. measures differ on the terms cup, pint and quart. Where there is a discrepancy between these two systems, the British measure is given first followed by the U.S. equivalent in brackets (). Thus, 2 pints (5 cups) means 2 British pints or 5 cups by U.S. measure.

Some British and U.S. cookery terms differ. The British term is followed by the American term in brackets on the first occasion in each recipe. Thereafter the British term is employed.
