  • About

Patrick Guenette/Alamy Stock Vector.

In the last few years Britain seems to have gone a bit pig crazy at Christmas, or rather pigs-in-blankets crazy. Not content with the things themselves, it’s possible for the (un?) discerning would-be eater to buy pigs-in-blanket crisps, pizza, soups and ice cream. Pig is big – but also nothing new. Sausages, chipolatas and stuffing are established favourites, and while ham remains a minority choice for Christmas Day, a boiled or baked gammon looms large in many people’s Boxing Day meals.
