Despite its very catchy name, cooking in the Instant Pot® is not literally instantaneous. If you are used to using a pressure cooker, this might be a little disappointing. However, overall you do save a lot of time, because the Instant Pot® needs very little hands-on time for cooking. This is the crux of Instant Pot® magic for me. Overall things do take less time to make than conventional stove-top cooking. Once you get used to features such as the delayed start, you will be able to schedule your cooking so it starts at your convenience and food is ready when you need it.
