The Instant Pot® is quite the phenomenon because it cuts down on time and practically cooks unattended. This is a huge timesaver. Having said that, it is important to note that most recipes will take longer than just the pressure cooking time. You need to factor in the time it takes to come to full pressure, the actual pressure cooking time, and the time for steam release. I have accounted for the complete cooking cycle by noting a total time needed with all my recipes. The timing for some of these recipes might seem lengthy, but you should keep in mind that in most cases the hands-on active time is indeed almost instant.
