  • About

The herb garden at Eyhorne Manor in Kent is laid out in the medieval manner: long rectangular beds filled with a single species of herb. In front is a bed overflowing with varieties of sage.

Gardeners, like plants, invariably grow from small beginnings. Carrot tops afloat in a saucer of water, a plate of mustard and cress seed sprouting on pink blotting paper, or a handful of mint leaves carefully plucked, one by one, from one’s own patch of garden - from such ventures, lifelong gardeners are born.
