The trick with the chicken is to brown it evenly. Watch it carefully and turn often if you don’t have a revolving-type broiler. Buttered popped corn is an accompaniment that pleases. Slice man-size hunks of garlic bread. Serve big cuts of thumping-ripe melon. And have plenty of coffee—some hot, some iced. Folks like to sip until the stars come out.
