Cutting the Cake

The small top tier is removed for the bride. (She may wish to wrap and freeze it to serve on her first anniversary.) Cut each layer of the middle tier into 16 square pieces (a total of 32). Cut each of the larger layers of the bottom tier into 36 pieces (a total of 72).
