  • About
Today baking contests, sponsored by food manufacturers, thrive on a national scale, enlisting the interest, efforts and imagination of thousands of homemakers. The 4-H Club baking demonstrations, judged by home economics experts coast-to-coast, who hand out the blue, red and white ribbons, promote good baking among future homemakers. The Cherry Pie Baking Contest for girls, formerly national, still is held in some regions. And home-baked pies are entered year after year in State and county fairs to win coveted prizes and recognition for the women who make them.
