Farm women make the world’s best cream pies. For two reasons: they almost always have the necessary ingredients in their kitchens, and they have lots of practice—the pies taste so wonderful that they’re favorites.

A Colorado ranchwoman says she bakes cream pies for church sales because they are spoken for by the time she delivers them. Her husband sums up his regard for the dessert by saying: “My definition for good is different from Webster’s. To me, good is the kind of cream pie my wife bakes.”
