We’ve discovered a make-ahead pie that tastes like Grandmother’s ginger-bread, layered with banana slices and crowned with whipped cream. That means it’s really good. You can get the pie ready in the morning and refrigerate it for noontime or evening guests.
The banana and ginger combination is a favorite in Hawaiian homes, where big-leafed banana trees with their bunches of pale-yellow fruit often grow near kitchen doors.
