Pasta Side Salads

Salads based on pasta are a recent addition to the complex salad repertoire. Fifty years ago, the standard mayonnaise-based macaroni salad was the only pasta salad typically encountered in North America. However, this changed after Americans discovered the great variety of Italian pasta shapes. Cool pasta salads made with various shapes and dressings soon followed.
