The flat presentation style is open to several interpretations. Some include salads assembled from sliced solid foods as well as salads made from spreads, dips, and purées. Usually presented on an oversized plate, this type of salad sometimes appears as though the food elements have been applied to the plate with a brush or a palette knife.
