1. Getting the beans

There are two ways to get your hands on great beans: walk into your nearest independent coffee shop, which may actually roast on the premises, or go online and subscribe to one of the boutique roasters. Top of our list is Square Mile Coffee Roasters, whom we’ve used since day one. However, other notable suppliers include Carvetii, Climpson & Sons, Caravan, Volcano Coffee Works and Ozone.
