As far as burgers go, technically this is a stunt burger. The absurd combination of seemingly disparate ingredients tests your willingness to take that first bite; however, this burger has two things most contemporary stunt burgers do not have: history and pride. This burger is, unquestionably, Australia’s most famous burger.
I’ve always been surprised and delighted to see what happens to the American burger when it goes abroad. In every corner of the globe, you can find basic versions of that familiar combination of beef, bun, and cheese. And even if it’s not traditional, I can always appreciate a country’s riff on the traditional American burger. And let me tell you—this burger is no traditional American burger.
