Korean pastries and sweets are beautiful and bite-sized. They are decorated with pieces of dried fruit, nuts and sesame seeds and often made from a dough of sticky rice or rice flour. Korean sweet shops and gourmet food halls in department stores present gorgeous gift boxes filled, checkerboard-style, with these little treasures. Offered with tea or at celebrations, they are best left to be made by experts. However, Taekyung makes a version of a popular sesame candy—Sesame Nuggets—that might remind you of a peanut butter ball.
