Soups & Sauces

I Love My Slow Cooker

  • About

The most difficult part about writing this chapter was choosing the recipes to include. The list was long, because a slow cooker is ideal for making soups and sauces: they don’t require any attention while they cook and it’s virtually impossible for them to scorch and burn. That’s a real bonus with the sauce recipes, especially one like Barbecue Sauce, with its high sugar content.

I also particularly appreciated the versatility of my slow cooker when I was testing soup recipes at the height of a heat wave and the kitchen wasn’t full of steam – it really is a kitchen appliance for the whole year round.
