Long leads

This is a minor but important point to consider. Think about where the electrical socket you will be using is located and make sure the slow cooker has a long enough lead. As with all electrical appliances, the lead should not be near gas or electric rings on the hob, nor should it be too close to the sink. The outside of a slow cooker becomes very hot, so place it out of reach of small children and somewhere you are unlikely to burn yourself.
