  • About
Because it is an intestinal irritant, alcohol can worsen the symptoms of IBS. Limit alcoholic beverages to one standard drink per day and try to abstain from alcohol at least two days per week. When you do have a drink, have it with food rather than on an empty stomach, because food will slow down the release of alcohol from the stomach.
