One way in which novice tasters can build up confidence in their skills while having a bit of fun is to play the options game - devised by Australian wine connoisseur Len Evans. You’ll need a few fellow tasters and a question-master who knows his or her wines. The question-master will give you a series of options to help you to narrow down the identity of the wine you are blind tasting. You may be given three possible countries, followed by three regions; three vineyards; a choice of vintages. Players remain in the game only by consistently choosing correctly.
