  • About
The Mediterranean contains a wide selection of fish in the tuna family, ranging from the huge bluefin tuna down to the frigate mackerel, which being no bigger than the two mackerel already listed is naturally enough called a mackerel in popular nomenclature, but for technical reasons (such as having a corselet of larger scales) counts as a tuna. The yellow-fin tuna is the most notable absentee. Of the species listed, only the bluefin tuna enters British waters. But all, and others too, are found in American waters.
