  • About

Ginger is a wonderful, bulbous root that has a brilliant fresh, slightly peppery, fragrant taste and a sweet juicy smell. For centuries ginger has been used for its culinary and medicinal purposes. It was first mentioned in the 5th century BC by the Chinese philosopher Confucius, and the name is derived from the ancient Sanskrit word stringa-vera, which means ’with a body like a horn’. Today it has a huge variety of culinary uses and is still regarded as a fantastic aid for digestion and an alternative cure for nausea.
