Our first tapas experience was very special. We were taken to the best bars in Granada by our friend Lidia, where we sipped sherries or quenched our thirst with ice-cold ‘cañas’ (beers), and for every drink, there was always an imaginative array of tasty things to eat. This is what the Spanish call ‘tapear’; for us, it was an unforgettable evening of warmth, conviviality, and fun. It was, in fact, our first taste of Spain and perhaps one of the reasons why we immediately fell in love with the country, its culture and people.
