Cours De Vincennes, 75012 M° Picpus (Line 6) Open: Wednesday and Saturday, 7:00 A.M.–2:30 P.M.
The Marché Cours de Vincennes attracts locals and adventurous shoppers to this far-flung part of town, whose residential feel and traffic-filled thoroughfare make it an unlikely stop on a tourist’s itinerary. Those who make the trip will be rewarded with a market that is truly a diamond in the rough due to its large selection of local farmers selling fruits and vegetables from the Île-de-France region.

Monsieur Martinet sells seasonal produce grown on his farm, located nineteen miles from Paris. Despite the increasing cost of land in the outskirts of Paris, Martinet has maintained his family farm rather than selling to developers. He brings homegrown goods to several markets on a weekly basis—an impressive feat, given that he does both the farming and marketing of his produce all on his own. In the spring you will find a wide range of seasonal vegetables at his stand, including green onions, baby turnips, carrots, and radishes, all perfect fixings for a Parchment Baked Sea Bass with Spring Vegetables. You can also buy vegetables from Mr. Martinet at Marché Bastille.
