La femme française

Nobody Does it Better: Why French Cooking is still the best in the world

  • About

As for her identity, sadly perhaps, being everyone precludes her being anyone. To paraphrase that famous French food lover, Chaka Khan, she is every woman. There is a little part of every femme française, of all ages, from all parts of the country, in her. To be fair she is probably even one third male.

Should you feel the urge to personify her as you read, I suggest you pick a romantically embellished Française or Français, the one who cooked you that fabulous meal, real or fantasy, in Gordes or Biarritz or Paris or Lille all those years ago.
