North Atlantic Seafood was given its first lease of life in 1979 and remained in print until almost the end of the millennium.

Now, with appropriate revisions made, it is published simultaneously by Ten Speed Press in Berkeley and Prospect Books in Devon, thus maintaining the trans-Atlantic connection which has always seemed fitting for a book dealing with both sides of the North Atlantic. Here I thank both the new publishers for their enthusiasm and for the hard work which Aaron Wehner and his colleagues in Berkeley, and Tom Jaine in Devon, have put in to make their new edition as handsome as it is.
