These are meatier and more substantial than the tarts in this chapter and are served as a main course or on a buffet of savoury dishes. The double-crusted ones are also perfect picnic food, because they can easily be eaten out of hand. Just unmould the pie to a cardboard cake board and wrap for transport. All you’ll need is a knife to cut and some napkins for serving.
