Run by Wilson Porras and Yexeli Sanchez, Jalisco serves Mexican food to the hungry masses of Brixton Village. Wilson is Venezuelan, but loves Mexican cuisine and is determined to introduce more dishes alongside the tacos and burritos. He knows Brixton Village well, having lived in the area for 14 years, and used to eat at La Cabana Colombian restaurant on the site where Jalisco is now.

People want good food they can enjoy a drink with and don’t have to wait too long for, and Wilson and Yexeli provide it. You’ll always see the same staff there when you visit and they pop in on their days off to say hi. Regular customers come for the margaritas and I imagine there will be a stampede when Wilson starts to serve Clamato cocktails and micheladas as well in the next few months.
