  • About
Rio offers so many gorgeous landmarks. The city is built between the ocean and mountains and the result is urban beauty so intense, so electrifying, that we cariocas applaud it any chance we get. Visit Christ the Redeemer and you feel like you’re on the top of the world. And the question I usually ask myself when I am up there and the sun is burning upon the blue skies is: Where should I dine when the night descends?

If this question is on your mind too, and if you like to dine with a view, may I suggest Aprazível, located in Santa Teresa, not too far from the Christ in Cosme Velho. It inspired me to prepare a version of galinhada (a chicken rice dish) that is simple and beautiful, just like the restaurant. Or perhaps you can try Bar do Mineiro, where the food and the mood represent Rio in each bite, inspiring the recipe for sopa de feijão.
