Set a Table

  • About
When we’ve seen the last guests off, my husband and I pick up as many glasses from the table as we can. We may even stack the dishwasher and clear the table and kitchen surfaces so that we can make breakfast in the morning.
Then we pour a whiskey or make some black chai rooibos and sit on the couch for a moment. What we’re doing, I realise, is savouring the experience in our little debrief. Having done this thing, we want to recall the feeling. Wasn’t that story hilarious? I think they liked the pudding! Can you believe…? And then we topple into bed.
