AROUND THE WORLD, DESSERTS AND DESSERT CULTURE VARY MASSIVELY, from being almost non-existent in some Asian countries to consisting of over-sweet concoctions elsewhere. Personally, I have become bored with modern desserts, and if I had the choice I would go for an old-fashioned, British nursery pudding any day. But, I must admit, I much prefer savoury to sweet things unless I have a chocolate craving, and that generally isn鈥檛 at the end of a meal. Sugar tends to work its way into most desserts and can take over all other flavours, except, of course, the delicious burned sugar on a cr猫me br没l茅e.
