Sweet Malvasia wine from the Canaries was known in Elizabethan England and praised by Voltaire. Despite the difficult climate and soil, the archipelago’s vineyards are once again producing quality wines made from the white malvasia grape, as well as aromatic indigenous red grapes such as negramoll and listán negro.
