  • About
In an article entitled ‘Excursion Gastronomique - Midi de la France’ written for a journal, Le Gastronome, in 1839, a certain Monsieur Fortuné Pin commends his home town of Apt for its excellent galcé fruits - apricots, quinces and melons, its cheeses and butters tasting of hazelnuts, its turkeys fattened an acorns, and its truffles ‘as famous for their aroma as those of the Périgord and better for preserving’.
