  • About

A view from José Fuster’s house.

Just twelve miles west of Havana City is a small town on the northern coast of Cuba named Jaimanitas—or, as it is more commonly known, “Fusterlandia,” after the renowned Cuban artist José Antonio Rodriguez Fuster, who has transformed not only his own home, but also the entire town, with his creativity. Fuster, as his friends and family call him, has often been referred to as the “Gaudí of Cuba,” a reference Fuster is proud to acknowledge. As travelers turn off the highway into Jaimanitas, Fuster’s artwork titled Homage to Gaudi seems to greet visitors with open arms.
