  • About

Ghvino Underground Just a short walk from Freedom Square, Vino Underground, as it’s usually called, should be the most important address on any natural-wine lover’s to-do list. Opened in 2012 by eight qvevri wine bottlers from around the country, this was Georgia’s first wine bar. Offering a showcase for the rapidly expanding natural wine movement in Georgia, Underground has helped introduce neophytes and afficionados to growers from around the country. It’s always a pleasure to go there, whether to sample a new wine with artisan cheeses or a light meal, meet the producers and other enthusiasts, or plan a visit to a winemaking region of Georgia.
