  • About

It may be hard to believe, but an eatery in the lay-by of a busy main road that’s famous for selling stewed beans and dumplings is the most popular restaurant in Georgia. Salobie – even the name comes from lobio, or beans – is situated between Mtskheta and Tbilisi. Its vast hedge-lined car park is almost always full. The formula is simple: place and pay for your order, then sit at a table in the leafy terraces to wait for the food (it’s most fun when the weather is good, but there are spaces indoors too). The kitchens are vast, the service is fast and efficient and the food is fresh and delicious.
