  • About
Close to Sighnaghi is the stunning Bodbe Monastery where the remains of St Nino are enshrined; she is credited with bringing Christianity to Georgia in the 4th century. In the Middle Ages the kings of Kakheti were crowned at Bodbe. Recently it’s been restored and is a memorable place to visit.
Today this tranquil oasis, strategically placed on a promontory overlooking the Alazani Valley, is run by nuns, has perfectly tended gardens and is open to the public. Its Pilgrim Refectory serves delicious savoury pies. Open daily 10:00 to 19:00. Tel: +995 595277107
