Three of my favourite local wine-makers have told me that this is one of the neighbourhood restaurants they like best, as it serves unpretentious dishes using high-quality ingredients. It’s a Soviet-era restaurant in the small village of Sormoni (due north of Kutaisi, near Rioni). Sormona is not far from the Gelati Monastery so it’s a useful place to stop before or after a visit there.
