  • About
Nothing can compare to eating in the home of local Georgian women when they are great cooks. Jujuna Avsajanlshvlll is at her sink when I arrive to spend a morning with her as she prepares local specialities.

Supra in jujuna’s house

“Unlike other parts of Georgia, we’ve had running water in our houses for 40 years because of our proximity to Russia,” she says as she fills a jug from her sink. Jujuna speaks a little English, the result of classes she has taken for guest-house hosts. She rents two rooms upstairs in her house. Jujuna worked at the local town hall until the government changed after the 2013 election, so the guest house helps maintain her five children. She also sells milk and the cheeses she makes.
