My parents had really different personalities. My father was about eight years older and more experienced in life, with reclusive tendencies, and was particular in how he liked things to be. My mother, at the time, was a naive country girl but was gregarious and social.
My father had a lucrative occupation as a professional fraudster. He would provide people with counterfeit passports and visas for them to be able to go to Europe from Khartoum.
He was basically a people-smuggler via plane. I guess nineties travel technology was more rudimentary than today. Usually, the paperwork was legit, with an official having been paid off.
