  • About

“cooking is the life of the woman”

Nawal Um Salech bakes festive biscuits and sweets for weddings, and every evening during Ramadan.

Nawal Um Salech is a wife, mother and grandmother, who was brought up in the Muslim town of Arrabeh, which boasts the largest number of doctors per population than anywhere else in Israel. Nawal has never worked outside of her home and is proud to be considered a good cook and baker. She was taught to cook as a young girl by watching and learning from her mother and grandmother, like so many other women of Nawal’s generation.
