For the dough

  • 1 kg semolina
  • 400 g margarine, melted

  • start by combining the semolina & melted margarine in a large bowl & mix well, before leaving for 10-12 hours to allow the semolina granules to swell & absorb the fat
  • add the baking powder & vanilla sugar together & mix until the dough resembles breadcrumbs
