The berry season is one that comes and goes all too fast. As soon as berries appear in the market, they vanish into the baskets of urban berry pickers. Of our favorites, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries are be stored in a dark but cool and airy place, preferably not the refrigerator, since it encourages mold. If you must refrigerate them, don’t wash them first. It’s best to eat berries as quickly as possible after picking or purchasing them.
Berries are wonderful to eat as they are, or with just a little crème fraîche or whipped cream flavored with a fruit liqueur. Eat one
