  • About
Beer has become more intriguing. Many say it is the drink of the moment. Microbreweries and brew pubs across the country have given beer new dimension and are we ever glad. Even if you haven’t sipped a beer since your last college football game, you owe it to yourself to try again with gusto. Who among us doesn’t crave a frosty mug of brew from time to time? Our British friends clearly relish their pints, half pints, and nips.
Serious beer drinkers always order by brand, and though the array of available ales, stouts, lights, imports, and microbrews grows daily, a good host can be content with offering at most two or three beers—a domestic light, domestic premium, and one of the imports with a national reputation. We have been to beer-tasting parties, however, where a dozen or more varieties were presented, along with the appropriate fare. In some circles, they’ve replaced wine tastings. Whatever beer you serve, be sure it is properly chilled and that you offer a tall, well-designed beer glass, also chilled. It does not take much effort to make a beer drinker happy.
